Aspire MCP: your Aspire account inside your AI tools

Aspire now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can connect your Aspire account to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP-compatible assistants, then ask about your finances in plain English. Over 30 tools are live at launch, covering accounts, transactions, cards, bills, claims, budgets and approvals.

Who it affects: admins and team members on Aspire accounts in all markets.

What to do: an admin enables Aspire MCP for the business, then each user connects their AI assistant.

What you can ask

  • "What did we spend with [vendor] last quarter?"
  • "Show me the bills waiting on my approval."
  • "Freeze my marketing card."
  • "Create a custom dashboard to view my transactions."

Controls that come with it

  • OAuth sign-in: your Aspire password is never shared with or stored by the assistant.
  • Existing permissions apply: every tool call respects the permissions you already have in Aspire, so MCP gives no access beyond what you're allowed to do.
  • Admin control: admins can turn Aspire MCP off for the whole business, block specific users, and choose which tools are available.
  • Two-factor authentication on money movement: any action that moves money needs a trusted-device challenge before it goes through.
  • Full audit log: every tool call is logged with who made it, which AI client it came from, when it happened, the tool used, and the result.

Q&A with Manjunath, Product Owner, Aspire MCP

Jen: Manjunath, what did the team ship?

Manjunath: Aspire now connects to the AI tools founders and finance teams already work in, like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. You can ask what you spent with a vendor, pull bills waiting on approval, or freeze a card, in plain English, without opening Aspire. There are over 30 tools live at launch.

Jen: Why build this now?

Manjunath: People already spend a lot of their day inside an AI assistant, but their finance data usually isn't available there. They switch between tools, often manually, to get the numbers they need. With MCP, you don't have to learn a new tool. Aspire shows up inside the ones already in your workflow.

Jen: The obvious question: is it safe?

Manjunath: You authenticate with OAuth, so your Aspire password is never shared with the assistant. Every tool call respects the permissions you already have, and admins decide which tools are on. For anything that moves money, you need two-factor authentication through a trusted device.

Jen: If I'm an admin and I want to see what an assistant did on our account last week, where do I look?

Manjunath: There's a complete audit trail. Every tool call is logged: who made it, which AI client, when, the tool used, and the result.

Jen: What's the first step for someone who wants to try it?

Manjunath: An admin enables Aspire MCP for the business in Aspire. Connecting an AI client then takes a couple of minutes, and the FAQ walks through each step.
