Features of the UOB Business World Debit Card
The UOB Business World Debit Card is linked directly to a UOB business current account, with transactions deducted from available funds in real time. This removes the need for credit facilities and eliminates interest charges, while ensuring spending remains limited to the account balance.
Cash rebate on local spend
Eligible local transactions earn up to 1.5% cash rebate per month. For monthly spending below SGD $6,000, the card earns a flat 0.5% cashback. This increases to 1.2% for monthly spending between SGD $6,000 and below SGD $15,000, and reaches 1.5% for monthly spending between SGD $15,000 and SGD $20,000. Certain transaction types, including medical spend, are excluded from rebate calculations.
0% FX fees on overseas spend
Overseas transactions made in foreign currencies now benefit from a 0% FX administrative fee, with no minimum spend requirement or cap. This marks a notable improvement from the card's previous fee structure, which imposed an administrative charge on foreign-currency transactions.
No cash rebate on overseas spend
From 1 February 2026, UOB Business World Debit Card holders no longer earn cash rebates on overseas FX transactions. The trade-off is the 0% FX fee mentioned above, UOB has effectively swapped rebate-on-overseas-spend for fee-free overseas spend.
International processing fee still applies in some cases
Despite the removal of foreign exchange (FX) administrative fees on overseas foreign-currency transactions, a separate 1% international processing fee continues to apply to transactions billed in SGD and processed by merchants outside Singapore. This charge is distinct from the card's FX fee structure and remains applicable even under the current promotion.
Corporate liability waiver
The card includes protection against unauthorised spending of up to USD $1,500,000 per company, providing an additional layer of security in the event that a card is lost, stolen, or compromised.
Linked to your UOB business current account
The UOB Business World Debit Card can be linked to eligible UOB business accounts, including the UOB Corporate Current Account, eBusiness Account, and BizTransact Account. Because the card operates through the linked account, any applicable minimum balance requirements, fall-below fees, and account charges are determined by the underlying business banking package.
Mastercard travel privileges
The card includes access to Mastercard travel benefits, such as complimentary travel medical insurance and coverage against travel inconveniences of up to USD $100,000. Cardholders also get airport lounge access through Mastercard Travel Pass by DragonPass at a preferential rate of USD $32 per visit across more than 1,300 lounges worldwide. Additional premium privileges such as savings on hotels, car rentals, flight bookings, dining, and other travel-related services offered through Mastercard's partner offers.
UOB Business World Debit Card fees and charges
This card carries no fees of its own, but the costs tied to cashback, FX, and the linked account still affect how much it actually saves you. Here's the full breakdown.
[Table:2]
The UOB Business World Debit Card has no standalone card fees, so businesses should instead consider the fees and balance requirements of the linked account.
Documents required for UOB Business World Debit Card
As the UOB Business World Debit Card is available only to holders of eligible UOB business accounts, the required documentation generally mirrors the account-opening process. For private limited companies, this typically includes the ACRA business profile, corporate authorisation documents, and identification documents such as passports or National Registration Identity Card (NRICs) for directors, shareholders, and authorised signatories.
Documentation requirements for sole proprietorships and partnerships differ and are outlined on UOB's Banking Forms and account-opening pages. There is no additional minimum initial deposit specific to the card; the deposit and balance requirements of the linked account applies.
Who is the UOB Business World Debit Card best suited for
Whether this card adds real value depends on how your business already banks and spends. Here's a quick breakdown of where it fits and where it doesn't.
It works well for:
- Businesses that have a UOB business current account and want a linked card for day-to-day spending
- Companies with regular overseas card spend that want to avoid FX fees on international purchases
- Businesses that prefer spending only what's in the account, without the credit risk of a corporate credit card
- SMEs that can keep monthly local card spend above SGD $6,000 to access the higher rebate tier
It is less suitable for:
- Businesses seeking a standalone corporate card without the need to maintain a linked business bank account.
- Companies that previously benefited from cashback on overseas spending, as this feature was discontinued from 1 February 2026.
- Businesses that frequently make SGD transactions through overseas merchants, as a 1% international processing fee continues to apply.
- Organisations requiring advanced expense management and spend-control tools beyond those available through UOB Infinity and the UOB SME app.

Other alternatives to UOB Business World Debit Card
- DBS Business Advance Debit Card: DBS's current business debit card offering, the DBS Business Advance Card, is linked to an eligible DBS business account and provides cashback on selected B2B spending categories. The card operates in conjunction with a linked business account, meaning account-related fees, balance requirements, and banking features depend on the underlying DBS business account.
- OCBC Business Debit Card: This card offers 0.2% unlimited cashback on qualifying spend, with an additional 0.8% bonus cashback on selected business categories, resulting in an effective cashback rate of up to 1%. The bonus cashback is capped at SGD $80 per month, and the card is available with eligible OCBC business accounts.
- Wise International Debit Card: The Wise card works differently from a regular bank debit card. It's a prepaid multi-currency card that holds balances in 40+ currencies and converts at mid-market rate, with the fee shown to you before you confirm each transaction. There's no cashback, but if your business regularly pays overseas suppliers or your team travels a lot, the upfront FX pricing is a worthy tool.
- Standard Chartered Business Debit Card: The Standard Chartered Business Debit Card is available to BusinessOne account holders and provides 1% rebate on qualifying spend with no rebate cap, no minimum spend requirement, and no annual fee. Account-related fees and balance requirements depend on the underlying banking package selected.
Conclusion
The UOB Business World Debit Card does not carry a separate card fee and offers 0% FX fees on overseas foreign-currency transactions, with no minimum spend requirement or fee cap. Combined with cashback of up to 1.5% on eligible local spending, it provides a practical payment solution for businesses that already maintain a UOB business account. There are, however, some limitations to consider. A 1% international processing fee continues to apply to SGD transactions processed overseas, cashback on overseas spending was discontinued from 1 February 2026, and the card is only available to customers with an eligible UOB business account.
By comparison, Aspire's Corporate Card charges no annual fee, provides cashback on selected business spending categories such as SaaS subscriptions and digital advertising, and displays foreign exchange rates upfront at the point of transaction. Businesses seeking a standalone corporate spending card without the need for a linked business bank account may find it a compelling alternative.
FAQs
What is the difference between a debit card and a business debit card?
A personal debit card is linked to an individual's bank account, whereas a business debit card is linked to a company's business account. Business debit cards are typically issued to authorised company representatives. They may include features such as expense tracking, support for multiple cardholders, spending controls, and rewards or cashback on eligible business expenditure.
Can I use my business debit card for personal use?
It's not a great idea. Business debit cards are for company expenses, and mixing personal and business spending on the same card just makes bookkeeping, tax filing, and audits harder. Most businesses keep the two separate for this reason.
What is the benefit of having a business debit card?
A business debit card allows authorised employees to make purchases directly from company funds without relying on cash or personal accounts. Transactions are recorded under the business account, helping to maintain clear and organised financial records. Many business debit cards, including the UOB Business World Debit Card, also offer cashback or rebate programmes on eligible spending, allowing businesses to offset a portion of their operating expenses.
When do you get a cash rebate on the UOB Business World Debit Card?
Cash rebate is calculated monthly on eligible local card transactions. If the monthly spend is below SGD $6,000, the rebate is a flat 0.5%. Cashback increases to 1.2% for monthly spending of SGD $6,000 to less than SGD $15,000 and 1.5% for monthly spending between SGD $15,000 and SGD $20,000.
Who is eligible for the UOB Business World Debit Card?
Any business that holds an eligible UOB business current account, such as the Corporate Current Account, eBusiness Account, or BizTransact Account, can be issued this card. There's no separate application; eligibility follows directly from the linked account.
What are the FX fees charged for the UOB Business World Debit Card?
The card currently charges 0% FX fees on overseas transactions made in foreign currencies, with no minimum spend or cap. However, a separate 1% international processing fee applies to SGD-denominated transactions processed overseas and is not waived under the current promotion.
